Youth Rugby Information
Lytchett Minster Rugby Clubs youth section has been growing steadily over the last two years. The youth section began 4 ½ years ago with an Under 13's side, with most of the boys having stayed with what is a friendly family club and are now playing for the Colts side in the Dorset and Wilts Under 18's Merit Table in Division 2 South. In the last 4 ½ years the youth section has growth considerably and we are now running sides at tag U7's and U8's, U9's, U10's, U11's, U13's and U14's, as well as the colt team.
Lytchett Minster is an expanding club with an excellent new clubhouse that opened in 2003. We have two main pitches straight outside the clubhouse and the facility for floodlight training. We always welcome new players of any ability (most of the boys and girls that come to us have never played rugby before).
The Mini's (which are U7's to U12's) train and play their matches on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 12:00.
The U13's and U14's train on Thursday evenings from 18:30 to 20:00 and then either play are have another training session on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 12:00.
The Colts train on Wednesday evenings from 18:30 to 20:00 and play their matches on Sunday afternoons with a 14:00 kick off time.

As the club has grown, so has the interest in playing against us. Over the last few seasons Lytchett Minster have welcomed a number of touring sides including Chinnor, Earls Down (from Coventry), Bromsgrove, Esher, Nailsea & Backwell and Midsomer Norton. This season the Colts are going on tour and everybody is getting excited at that.
Additionally, as the youth section has grown we have been able to grow the youth section of our famous Seven's tournament. The club have added U14's and U16's to our popular 7's Tournament held over the May Bank Holiday weekend, as well as continuing with the Colts competition. The U14's and U16's play on the Saturday afternoon, with the Colts playing on the Sunday. This year is our 25th anniversary, so it should be a great weekend. If you have never witnessed 7's, coming along, as it's fast and furious.
