Lytchett Falter
Following a good run of results, Lytchett Minster faltered at home to Puddletown at the weekend, eventually losing 7 - 13.
The match was a friendly and Lytchett fielded a team with a number of new faces. For half the match the large pack from Puddletown dominated and were rewarded from a lineout close to the Lytchett line. Following a clean catch and drive the visitors drove over to score the opening points. The try was not converted. Shortly after Puddletown were presented with another scoring opportunity and this time their kicker didn’t disappoint and the score was increased to 0 - 8.
Despite playing with an injury hooker come flanker, Gwillym Poole, rallied the Lytchett team in the second half and the home team came close to scoring a number of times. However, Puddletown scored a breakaway try late on to secure the win. The last word fell to Lytchett when stand-off Scott Wonder danced through to score a consolation try for Lytchett. Blind side flanker Oz Goldchain converted the try to make the scoreline more respectable. However, Puddletown were worth winners, the final score being 7 - 13.
