It was a frustating day for the 2's. They took on the match at short notice,and dug a team out for the day after providing the 1st team with many players to enable their game to go ahead.
As many as 4 young colts who have recently joined took up the challenge of senior rugby to save the day for Lytchett.A big well done and thankyou to them.However still being 3 players down the 2's relied on the oaks generosity to complete their team.Good to see the game of rugby prevail and the match took place.Although the team spirit was good oaks soon scored and their youthful and well drilled players soon took them several tries up.As ever the Lytchett forwards were strong and played well in phases,threatening the oaks line well several times but failing at the last 5.Also the backs had their moments and oaks didn't get the whole game to themselves. Credit goes to all who played a strong oaks side,who were good sportsmen till the last.well done to the 2's for making the best of a frustrating day,and maybe those young colts will continue to play and come through the ranks as top class senior players!A very positive thing to come out of the day.
The last words must go the referee who had a firm grip on the game making all the right decisions at the right time,awesome.(didn't miss a thing)
