Lytchett Minster hosted East Dorset in a Hampshire Division 3 league match at the weekend. Despite putting up a fighting performance Lytchett could not prevent the away team scoring 6 tries to Lytchett’s 2 and running out eventual winners, 20 – 40.
Before the match East Dorset were the only team in the country not to have been scored against all year, but Lytchett halted that record scoring 2 penalties and 2 converted tries. The Lytchett tries were scored by scrum half Shaun Greenpost and inspirational captain Rob Ansell.
When Lytchett scored their second try with only 10 minutes to go, the scores were close at 20 – 26, but East Dorset scored 2 converted tries in the last few minutes to seal the victory.
