Match Report for Lytchett Minster 1 Vs Bournemouth 2 on 17 Jan 2004
Lytchett Back To Winning Ways
With a critical league game next week against Fordingbridge, Lytchett hosted a B'mouth XV and were looking for a professional performance to take into the crunch game next week.
The game was a frantic affair with both sides attacking from the start. However, the home team were first to score, when the Lytchett stand-off Quin Baiter broke the first line of defence and passed the ball on the centre Steve Payne who powered over for the score. Payne also converted his own try.
Within ten minutes Lytchett were in the red zone again and this time it was Payne's centre partner Oggy Wayman who benefited from Quin's powerful play. Wayman had a simple run to the line following an inside move from Quin. On this occasion Payne missed the conversion and the score was 12 - 0 to the home team.
Dispute both teams attacking from every part of the field, there were no further scores in the second half and the game finished 12 - 0. It was an enjoyable to watch and both teams desired their beer in Lytchett new club house after the match.
If Lytchett take this type and form and desire into next weeks league match, they have a good chance of taking the points against Fordingbridge.
